George Gammell Angell

George Gammell Angell is the Brown University scholar whose papers initiate the investigation in The Call of Cthulhu. An authority on ancient inscriptions, he connects Henry Anthony Wilcox’s dreams in 1925 with material presented by Inspector Legrasse seventeen years earlier. His death leaves the comparison unfinished, and his grand-nephew Francis Wayland Thurston inherits both the evidence and the danger he eventually believes it represents.
