Danforth is the Miskatonic graduate assistant who accompanies Dyer across the Antarctic mountains and through the Elder Things’ city in At the Mountains of Madness. A capable pilot and reader of strange literature, he helps interpret the discoveries and survives the pursuit beneath the ruins. His final glimpse during the return flight remains the story’s most deliberately unresolved vision.
