De Vermis Mysteriis

De Vermis Mysteriis, or Mysteries of the Worm, is Robert Bloch’s fictional grimoire attributed to Ludvig Prinn. The Shambler from the Stars gives it a material form, an invented publication history and a dangerous chapter on familiars. Lovecraft includes it among the books found in the Starry Wisdom church in The Haunter of the Dark. Its danger arises from the use of its text, not merely from owning an ominously titled object.
