Zadok Allen is the elderly Innsmouth resident whose long conversation with a visiting student supplies the town’s hidden history in The Shadow over Innsmouth. His account of Obed Marsh, the events of 1846 and the Deep Ones is initially dismissed as drunken invention, then increasingly corroborated by the visitor’s experience.
