Byakhee – The Winds of Carcosa captures one of the Cthulhu Mythos' most mysterious beings as it emerges like a living shadow above the forgotten towers of Carcosa. Neither bird nor insect, the creature drifts upon impossible cosmic winds, serving powers far older than mankind and carrying travelers across distances no mortal mind was meant to comprehend.

Inspired by the legendary servants of Hastur, this artwork embraces the unsettling elegance of the Byakhee rather than brute violence. Its elongated silhouette, impossible wings and spectral form evoke an ancient messenger whose arrival signals that the boundary between worlds has begun to fade.

Rendered in a restrained monochromatic palette of weathered ivory, pale sandstone and deep midnight black, the illustration combines dramatic contrast, distressed textures and flowing organic shapes to create an atmosphere of silent cosmic dread.
