Yekub

Yekub is the distant world reached by George Campbell’s displaced consciousness in The Challenge from Beyond. Its wormlike inhabitants explore other galaxies through devices that exchange minds across space. Campbell arrives as a captive but acquires a native body, seizes the planet’s spherical deity and becomes its ruler. The world’s scientific imperialism, sacred prohibitions and unexpectedly benevolent ending belong to different stages of a five-author collaboration.

Yekubians

The Yekubians are the wormlike, many-limbed inhabitants of the alien world in The Challenge from Beyond. Their crystal probes allow them to capture distant minds and explore through stolen bodies. Lovecraft supplies their physical description and expansionist history; Howard and Long develop the encounter with George Campbell and expose limits that their extraordinary technology does not overcome.
