August Derleth

August William Derleth (1909–1971) was a Wisconsin author, anthologist and publisher. With Donald Wandrei he founded Arkham House, helping preserve Lovecraft and a much wider range of weird fiction in book form. His own Mythos stories and editorial interpretations also reshaped the tradition, while regional writing and detective fiction occupied major parts of his independent career.
